Shasta County Passes 11,000 COVID-19 Cases

The Coronavirus death toll for Shasta County remains at 174. Only 21 cases have been confirmed from Friday and Saturday, as well as 1,630 negative tests. The total number of cases so far is 11,017. An estimated 123 people have the virus right now, 22 of them hospitalized and 5 in intensive care.

Tehama County has reported 5,104 cases and 52 deaths.
There have been 370 cases and 5 deaths in Trinity County.
1,760 have been reported in Siskiyou County with 14 deaths.
Butte County has reported 163 deaths among their 10,774 cases.
Lassen County has had 17 deaths among their 2,027 cases in the community and 2 deaths among the 3,574 cases in prison.
Humboldt County has had 3,210 cases and 33 deaths.
Modoc County has had 456 cases and 4 deaths.

Vaccination clinics are scheduled for those who need a second dose of either the Moderna or the Pfizer vaccine. Details are at shastaready.org.

Public health says it’s very important that people continue to get tested regularly, but testing volume is way down in recent weeks. Walk-in testing is available at many locations listed under “Get Tested” at shastaready.org.

The Governor and state legislative leaders have reached an agreement aimed at getting most public school children back in classrooms by the end of March.
