A fire west of Redding spread from one home to another. Located on Trail Drive off of Placer Road, the fire apparently started in a house that was occupied. Everybody escaped but the house was completely burned to the ground. Flames spread to a mobile home on the property, which was also destroyed. Also Monday night, a single-wide mobile home was destroyed by fire off of Ridge View Road in the Mountain Gate area. One person was transported to the hospital from that fire with unknown injuries.
Tehama County Cal-Fire crews had a busy day Monday. A vegetation fire in the area of Evergreen Road at Old Gold Road in the Bowman area was contained at 5 acres. A vehicle fire along southbound Interstate Five near Gyle Road spread to vegetation and burned about a 20 by 50 foot spot, in addition to the vehicle. The fire was caused by mechanical failure. Monday night an RV burned up in the 19000 block of Bowman Road. Crews contained the fire to the RV.
