All the pieces fell into place for the rescue of a couple of abducted toddlers in Siskiyou County Saturday. A little after Midnight, the Amber Alert System was activated and the Clark County Sheriff’s Office in Washington State notified Yreka-Area CHP that the kids and their abductor could be heading that way. Ronald Hidalgo had apparently taken his twin 2-year-old nephews from their home in Vancouver, Washington Friday afternoon and fled in his Jeep Renegade. The Jeep was seen going through the agriculture station at Hornbrook, so officers were ready when it reached North Yreka at 1:30AM. Hidalgo was taken into custody and the children were held at the CHP Office until their parents arrived from Washington to pick them up.
