A man who had a confrontation with law enforcement in Siskiyou County managed to slip away. Thursday night some people in the Big Springs area reported that 36-year-old Jesse Charles Askew of Humboldt County had come to their home and fired multiple rounds from a gun. When deputies arrived they could hear shots being fired nearby and, with help from the CHP, they reportedly found Askew nearby. He surrendered a 9 millimeter handgun to them, but then resisted arrest, tried to take a CHP Officer’s rifle away, and fled. Despite an intensive search, Askew was not found.
