A Red Bluff man has been given a light sentence for sexually assaulting multiple women. 42-year-old Ronald David Cook was arrested by Red Bluff Police on April 28th of last year. A 28-year-old woman was walking on Jackson Street in the afternoon Cook drove up and called her over. She recognized him and refused to get in the car with him, but he forced her to get in and spent the next three hours driving around Red Bluff trying to convince her to have sex with him. She refused his advances and was trying to figure out how to get away from him without making him angry. Eventually he strangled her and raped her in the car before she was able to get away and run to a nearby apartment complex. Police were called but she was too upset to tell them what happened. Officers were later called to Saint Elizabeth Hospital, where she made a report. Cook was arrested a few days later. There were at least two other victims who Cook forced to be alone with him before threatening and raping them. He told at least one that he would kill her if she came forward. Cook has been sentenced to 2 years in state prison.
