RPD K9 Helps Officers Arrest Man Who Ran From Them In The Parkview Area

A suspected thief was chased around the Parkview Neighborhood Wednesday afternoon. Just before 2 O’clock a woman called 9-1-1 from Lanning Avenue to say that 30-year-old Nicholas Hall was in her backyard trying to steal things. She then said he was hiding across the street. Another caller reported a fight between several men in the same area. Officers knew Hall, who had two felony warrants. On Monday he was suspected of a residential burglary, and of brandishing a knife while threatening someone. On January 1st, he apparently got away from officers who were investigating a robbery. When officers got in the area Wednesday, they saw Hall running and they chased him, but they soon lost sight of him. A perimeter was set up and searched over the course of an hour using officers on foot, a police drone, a CHP helicopter and Chase the K9. Eventually Chase found Hall hiding between some thick bushes and the wall of a home. He refused to come out so Chase dragged him out and he was arrested.
