Tehama County Woman Sentenced For Shooting Ex-Boyfriend

A 22-year-old Corning woman has been sentenced to prison for shooting her ex boyfriend. In September of 2019, Dacoda Stewart drove the victim from Corning to an area on Paskenta Road, where she parked, pulled out a small caliber pistol and shot him in the head. When he tried to grab the gun away from her he was shot in the hand as well. She then drove him back to Corning where witnesses called for help. The shooting left the victim with a bullet lodged in his skull, but he survived. Stewart was convicted of attempted premeditated murder with a special allegation. She’s been given a sentence of 11 years 8 months in state prison.
