5 Things To Know About The California Election

LOS ANGELES (AP) – California appears headed for a record turnout in Tuesday’s election, and Joe Biden is expected to trounce President Donald Trump in the heavily Democratic state. About 14.6 million votes were cast in California’s 2016 presidential election and by Monday more than 11 million people already had returned their ballots this year. Trump lost California to Hillary Clinton by over 4 million votes in 2016 and it’s possible he’ll lose this year by a record margin. There are ballot proposals involving property taxes, affirmative action and crime issues, and Republicans are trying for a comeback in U.S. House races, after losing seven seats to Democrats in 2018.
