Man Found Guilty After Theft From Redding Home

A Shasta County jury has convicted a Redding man of theft and weapons charges. In January of last year, Michael Douglas Vierra stole a number of items, including guns and jewelry, from someone’s home. The next day a family member of the victim tracked the guns and jewelry to Vierra’s garage. When confronted by the victim and two other people, Vierra surrendered the goods to them. About 6 months later Vierra admitted to police that he had stolen the items. On Tuesday he was convicted of possession of stolen property and being a felon with a gun. Because of a prior strike, he faces up to 6 years in prison.
