Shasta County Sheriff’s Detectives have dug up some details about a murder committed last month in the Round Mountain area. On September 28th, sheriff’s deputies happened to be in the area of Highway 299 and Bakus Road when they heard gunshots from the direction of Windy Point Road about a quarter mile away. When they went to check it out they found a man near the road recently deceased with gunshot wounds to his upper body. Nearby witnesses reported hearing a verbal argument just before the gunshots. The victim has now been identified as 34-year-old Noel Garcia of Hayward. The sheriff’s office says he was a documented gang member of “Campo Ramos Locos”, and he was on parole for attempted murder out of West Sacramento. Detectives say Garcia had recently arrived to work on an illegal cannabis grow that has since been eradicated in the Windy Point area. A $5000 reward is offered for anonymous tips about Garcia’s murder at 243-2319 or scsecretwitness.com.
