Police arrested a man on kidnapping charges after he was convinced by his victim to stop his vehicle at convenience story to get a drink, according to Redding Police. 39-year-old Ronald Hussey said he was at the Bonnyview Boat Ramp when a man he didn’t know approached him and offered to sell him drugs. When Hussey refused, 32-year-old Justin Kenyon allegedly pulled out a knife and demanded a ride from Hussey. While Hussey was driving around town, he apparently convinced Kenyon to allow him to stop at a convenience store to get a drink because he was thirsty. Once inside the store, Hussey called police who quickly arrived on scene and arrested Kenyon. Police say Kenyon was in possession of two knives, as well as Methamphetamine. He’s been booked into the Shasta County Jail for kidnapping, false imprisonment, and possession of Methamphetamine.
