Redding Police are searching for a suspect after three gas stations were robbed within a short period of time early on Sunday. Officers were called at 12:29AM to the AM/PM on Bechelli Lane after the clerk reported that two armed black males had robbed the store and fled on foot. As officers were investigating, they received a call from SHASCOM that the AM/PM on Lake Boulevard had been robbed by two males matching the description of the robbery suspects. Officers were told that the suspects fled in a silver sedan. About 30 minutes later, a 3rd armed robbery was reported at the AM/PM at Buenaventura and Railroad Avenue. Multiple officers converged on the gas station and spotted the silver sedan. A traffic stop was initiated, but the sedan sped off and eventually crashed into a barrier in the 1000 block of South Street. Three suspects jumped from the car and two fled on foot. 20-year-old Jeremy Ephriamdouglas Carter complied with the officers commands, but officers had to search for the other suspects. One of the occupants was quickly detained and found to be a juvenile. Officers were unable to locate the 3rd suspect who is described as a tall black man with long dreadlocks that had white tips. Carter and the juvenile were taken to the investigations division. Carter was booked into the Shasta County Jail for robbery, while the juvenile was booked into Shasta County Juvenile Hall for obstructing or delaying a peace officer. Officers say that at each robbery an undisclosed amount of cash was taken, and the robberies remain under investigation.
