Climber Killed After Falling On Mount Shasta

A couple of climbers ran into trouble on Mount Shasta over the weekend, and one of them died. Saturday evening, Chelsey Klein of San Diego called 9-1-1 from about 11,000 feet on the difficult north face of the mountain. She said her boyfriend had fallen down an embankment and was injured. An Army National Guard Blackhawk helicopter airlifted Klein from the mountainside and she was transported to a hospital. The boyfriend could not be found, so the helicopter dropped off two climbing rangers. The following morning they eventually found 35-year-old Jeffrey Sutton deceased.
