30,000 pounds of Apples presented a bit of interference for early morning drivers in the Lake Shasta area. At 3:20AM a Peterbilt tractor-trailer hauling a load of Apples was southbound on Interstate 5 south of Salt Creek Road when the driver allowed the rig to drift onto the left shoulder, then lost control of it. The entire truck and trailer tipped onto its left side, blocking both southbound lanes. Traffic was able to get through on the right shoulder until the mess was cleared. The driver was uninjured.
