Woman Charged With Paying Hitman To Kill Ex-Husband

Federal prosecutors say a Nevada woman who thought she was paying a hitman to kill her ex-husband in Chico was actually being scammed out of her money. The U.S. Attorney’s Office says 26-year-old Kristy Felkins of Fallon, Nevada contacted the administrator of a site operating on the Darkweb and arranged for the murder of her ex-husband, who she knew would be traveling to Chico, and provided the intended victim’s specific location. She also allegedly transferred payment of 12 Bitcoin, valued at the time at about $5,000. The site no longer exists. She did not receive a refund. On Thursday, Felkins was indicted on federal murder-for-hire charges. If convicted she could spend ten years in federal prison.
