Work On Highway 299 In Trinity County Will Cause Delays This Week

A Cal-Trans project along Highway 299 in Trinity County that’s been interrupted several times will again cause lengthy delays for drivers. The “Burnt Junction Drapery Project” involves helicopters being used to install mesh drapery on the hillsides to help stabilize the loose rocks and reduce the severity of slides. The work is being done between Junction City and Burnt Ranch, and is scheduled to continue until November. 20 minute delays can be expected during blasting and scaling work. When helicopters are working Wednesday and Thursday, drivers can expect delays of up to 75 minutes between 6AM and 5PM.
