Whitmore Man Shot And Killed During Domestic Dispute

A Whitmore man has been killed in a domestic dispute. Friday evening Shasta County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to the Tessa Lane home of 46-year-old Patrick James Sims, where they found him dead from a single gunshot wound. Major Crimes detectives took over and found that the relationship between Sims and his wife had been physically abusive for more than 20 years. Friday night was no exception, as a verbal altercation became violent. A 16-year-old male family member reportedly got a gun from inside the home and came to the aid of Mrs. Sims. As the teen attempted to intervene in the fight, Patrick Sims was shot, though the sheriff’s office has not said by whom. Nobody has been arrested. Sims violent criminal history includes the stabbing of a police officer in Modoc County in 1996, as well as convictions for assault, domestic violence, theft, weapons and drugs.
