A widespread public safety power shutoff by PG&E is in effect for 172,000 Northern California customers, including thousands in Shasta County. Hundreds more have lost power due to heavy winds, including close to a thousand in North Redding. There are also many outages for Redding Electric Utility customers. They include 276 customers in the Freebridge area from a tree into power lines. There is also an unknown number of REU customers affected in East Redding in the area of Oakdale Lane and Oxford Road, Heather Lane and Bunker Street and areas around Shasta View Drive south of Highway 44 to Hartnell Avenue.
