Man Fights Redding Police, Injures Three

A man from Crescent City went looking for a fight at a Redding substance abuse treatment facility and ended up injuring three police officers, according to Redding Police. Saturday afternoon 39-year-old Steven Robinson reportedly trespassed to the rear of Empire Treatment Center on California Street, destroyed the “no trespassing” sign, tried to force his way into the back door, assaulted a client and tried to start fights with just about everybody. He appeared to be on drugs, and none of the staff or clients knew him. When officers arrived Robinson was in the parking lot and it took them almost 5 minutes to get him under control. He reportedly struck the officers, tried to get one in a choke hold and tried to get their weapons away from them. He and three officers sustained minor injuries.
