6AM Thursday: Butte Reports 80 COVID-19 Cases, 3 New Deaths Wednesday

Anderson High School and North Valley Continuation School have begun distance learning after a student at each school tested positive for COVID-19. Students may return to classrooms when given the all clear by public health.

Shasta County reported only one new Coronavirus case Wednesday, bringing the total to 554. The new patient is a woman in her 20’s. There are 32 active cases and 5 people hospitalized, with 2 of them in intensive care. 170 people are quarantined due to possible exposure. 11 Shasta County residents have died from COVID-19.

Butte County reported 80 additional cases Wednesday to total 1,744, an 3 more deaths for a total of 21. Trinity County has another case, bringing them to 11. Tehama County is on the state watch list. They’ve reported 400 cases and one death. Glenn County was removed from the state’s watch list on Wednesday and has had 433 cases with 3 deaths. Lassen County has had 82 cases in the community, in addition to 633 in the prison population. There have been 125 in Siskiyou County and 342 in Humboldt County with 4 deaths. Modoc County has had 5 cases and all have recovered.
