Anderson High School will begin distance learning Wednesday after a student tested positive for COVID-19. Students may return to classrooms on September 3rd. Shasta County reported 8 new Coronavirus cases Tuesday, bring the total to 553. Ranging from a teenage boy to a man in his 80’s, six of the new patients reported symptoms. There are 32 active cases and 3 people hospitalized, with 2 of them in intensive care. 179 people are quarantined due to possible exposure. 11 Shasta County residents have died from COVID-19.
Butte County reported 35 new cases Tuesday for a total of 1,664. 18 people have died from COVID-19 in Butte County. Trinity County has had a total of 10 cases. Tehama County was been added to the state watch list and has reported 394 cases and one death. Glenn County has had 433 cases with 3 deaths. Lassen County has had 81 cases in the community, in addition to 633 in the prison population. There have been 124 in Siskiyou County and 342 in Humboldt County with 4 deaths. Modoc County has had 5 cases and all have recovered.
