Corning Police have released the names of two men were shot, one of them fatally, at a motel on the night of August 9th. Officers were called to the Super 8 Motel on Solano Street and found a trail of blood leading into one of the rooms, with bullet holes in the door and a bullet hole in the stucco wall next to the room. No one was found there but 2 men arrived at Saint Elizabeth Hospital in Red Bluff to be treated for gunshots. 24-year-old Angelo Spears was shot in the torso and died. 20-year-old Nicholas Valdez was shot in the left forearm. Corning Police have not identified a motive for the shootings, nor have they made any arrests.
