One of the two people killed in a fiery crash near the Shasta/Trinity County line Friday afternoon was the Trinity County District Attorney. 63-year-old Donna Marie Daly-Nisson was driving an eastbound Toyota Camry a little east of Buckhorn Summit coming down the hill on Highway 299 when she crossed over the double yellow lines on a sweeping right curve. The Toyota smashed head-on into a westbound Ford F150 pickup driven by 67-year-old Terry Hugh Hitchcock of Anderson. The vehicles became entangled and caught fire, with flames fully engulfing both the car and the pickup.
