Two people were killed in a fiery crash near the Shasta/Trinity County line Friday afternoon. At 2:38 an eastbound Toyota sedan was a little east of Buckhorn Summit coming down the hill on Highway 299 when it crossed over the double yellow lines on a sweeping right curve and smashed head-on into a westbound Ford pickup. The vehicles became entangled and caught fire, with flames fully engulfing both the car and the pickup. The woman in the Toyota and the man in the Ford both died at the scene. No names have been released.
