Twice Convicted Redding Killer Gets Maximum

A Redding man has been given the maximum sentence from a murder for which he had to stand trial twice. 40-year-old Morgan Eastwood Eddy was found guilty of first degree murder in a case that was overturned by an appeals court. On April 23rd of 2016, 28-year-old Pete Jeppesen was found on the ground in front of an Akard Avenue apartment complex suffering from a stab wound. He died a short time later at the hospital. Officers learned Jeppesen had been in a fight with Eddy, who was eventually found nearby on Cypress Avenue. Eddy was convicted again last month and on Friday he was sentenced to 26 years to life in state prison.
